Abstract

This paper analyzes the current state and research trends of ecotourism in the Arab world. Using a descriptive analytical method and bibliographic documentation, it aims to bridge existing literature gaps by reviewing relevant studies with a specific contextual focus on the region. To achieve this, we conducted a bibliometric review of ecotourism research in the Arab world published between 2000 and 2024. Data was systematically searched from Scopus, identifying, screening, and analyzing relevant literature using quantitative tools like VOSviewer software. After careful selection, 558 documents in English, French, and Arabic were included for analysis. The findings offer valuable insights for future research opportunities in ecotourism, particularly within the Arab world. The study highlights pioneering contributions, prominent authors, central themes, and emerging research challenges in the field.
